Magic Realism Book Challenge

I have decided that I will challenge myself to read one magic realist book a week for a year. Does anyone fancy joining me?

Zoe, Just looked over your list, and it looks impressive. Not sure if I can pull it off, but I'd like to try. You've chosen quite a few books and authors I've been telling myself I need to read.

Sounds like a good challenge - count me in! Is there any order to the list? Will we be reading a particular book to start, or just pick any from the list? It would be cool if others were reading the same story the same week so there could be some discussion about it.

Yes, it would be ood to do it together. Have you got any of these sitting on your bookshelfs already? In which case we could start with them.

The only one I have (and have read) is the Time Traveler's Wife. It's on the shelf at home though, and I'm on the road for now. I'd be interested in Chocolat and could download that one on my Kindle probably. Or "Like Water for Chocolate". (I must be hungry...) I'm open to suggestions though, as long as the one we pick can be an ebook I can get a copy.

I checked out your list, Zoe. It's great! I don't know if I can do a book a week, but I've read a few on the list. In fact just finished rereading Life of Pi.

I'm downloading The Knife Thrower as I write.
