Comment by Deborah J. Brasket on August 4, 2012 at 1:29am Hi all, I just joined and I'm looking for a critique partner(s) for mainstream or literary fiction, short stories and a novel. I taught writing courses at local community colleges and have done quite a bit of professional writing over the years, so I'm looking for someone with similar experience and interest to exchange with.
Comment by Carrie on July 31, 2012 at 5:14pm Hi Everyone! I just joined the group and wanted to post what I am willing to read and provide feedback on. I love a variety of genre's however my favorites are fantasy and horror. I do like a good mystery, thriller or romance once in a while too. I am working on my first novel and am looking for critique and constructive feedback as I go, my book is Fantasy, but has adventure, romance, mystery and a little thriller thrown in for good measure. I hope to connect with many of you and can't wait to see your writing!

Comment by Suanne Schafer on March 18, 2012 at 9:30am Just finished the first 10 week class in the Stanford Creative Writing program. Huge amount of effort, but well worth it. Feedback from 14 other people at about the same level of writing plus the professor. With that many points of view looking at your work, you get a good sense of what does/doesn't work.
The most informative book we used was The Lie That Tells a Truth by John Dufresne. We read a broad range of short stories and one novel, If You Follow Me by Malena Watrous.

Comment by Elisabeth Kinsey on January 21, 2012 at 9:08am Hi Cailin,
Ask them why it's their new fave...haha!
Comment by Cailin Cecchini on January 20, 2012 at 4:29pm Hey everyone! I've never been in Critique group before, but it sounds useful. I recently wrote a YA novel and so far the only people that have read it are my friends. While I appreciate their enthusiastic comments of, "This is my new favorite book!" I know they're hopelessly bias. Hoping to utilize this group soon to get some outside feedback! Talk to you all soon!
