Why Do You Write and What's Your Process

Why Do You Write and What's Your Process

As an author, psychotherapist, wife, and mother who also does abstract paintings and studies her dreams I am incredibly interested in hearing authors discuss what brought them to writing, and the process by which they continue creating.

About Why Do You Write and What Is Your Process...

I will be using my blog space here @She Writes to interview writer/author members of She Writes to share why they write and their process for writing.

This means that you have a chance to promote yourself and your work on my page here @She Writes.

Each interviewee will write an essay of 500-1000 words, forward it to me along with a picture of them and I will post it on the blog for my page here @SheWrites for the entire week (7 days).

During the week that each author is featured I encourage other members to read the guest author's essay and forward them questions and/or comments about their work and their process.

We can all learn from each other.

I encourage featured/guest authors to tell us about your work(s) and upcoming releases so that we can purchase them.

Think of this as a space and time for promotion and marketing of your and your work.
Include links to where we can purchase your book(s), links to short stories, essays, poems, links to whatever you or anyone has published of your writing.
Feel free to provide links to your blog posts, anything that gets the word out about you and your literary work.

You do not need to be traditionally published to be featured in this blog. It is for anyone who is a member here @She Writes. We are all works in process. I find that discussing why I write and my writing process helps me gather my thoughts and move closer to achieving my goals.

To be featured just let me know that you want to be a guest, write the essay and forward it to me.

My e-mail is:

Please send it to this e-mail as I am checking it all the time.

Also for new members, please post the link(s) of your blogs. We are all linking up with each other as a way of promoting our blogs and our writing.

Anjunelle, thanks for this group. I'd written a blog post that touches base on this question:

I'm thankful this group is here because I often feel like I'm on my own island. I love it but reality sets in and I feel like I'm not doing anything in the eyes of those around me. It's a daunting thought, but if I didn't have this group nor my best friend who does understand, I'd be probably be buried under the weight of not writing. Then, I'd perish.

Well, life got in the way but I'm still posting on 30 days of forgiveness. Of course, I've figured out it's 30 days that won't be in a row. Gotta cut myself some slack. This has been a very difficult series and I am just now scratching the surface in exploring what it means to forgive so I can heal well.

Peer review and feedback means so much to me so comment away. Nevertheless, here are the links.:

I'm back! I'm kicking things off on my newly redesigned WordPress blog with a 30-day series on forgiveness. Big developments have happened over the last several months and I just can't keep it to myself any longer. http://tinyurl.com/Forgive1

Look forward to your feedback. Thanks in advance!

Suicide: Breaking Through

Today marks the seventh anniversary of my husband's funeral AND my cousin's suicide. I've learned the reason for suicide began long before my first attempt and, as it turns out, also is true for my cousin.

I spent 6 years crocheting a beautiful blanket after my second suicide attempt and learned what love is.

Suicide note: Check. Pills: Check. Goodbye cruel world.

This is part two of my three-part series on suicide. This time we visit my second attempt and how deep into the abyss I had fallen before getting back up.

Today is my son's 14th birthday. It is also my husband's 7th birthday ... in Heaven. Today I honor my late husband and talk about the day Edd's music died.
