Fran, Thanks for the comment. I checked out your HP post and your blog site. Looks like we're on the same wave length about a lot of issues!

Hi Jo Anne. I'm so glad to meet your interesting blog. I write often about reprouctive justice (most recently http://www.huffingtonpost.com/fran-moreland-johns/abortion-talk-boo..., and am working on another I hope to get up soon... but have to go do a panel on the subject here in SF. As a survivor of a pre-Roe back alley abortion I am dismayed to see us headed right back in that direction. I'll look forward to reading more of your blog. Peace & good cheer.

I guess summer is the time for slacking. I did one WP blog about a month ago, and plan to work on another today. Here's the first in a three-part series. It's on Contraception and Women's Health.  http://joannevalentinesimson.wordpress.com/2014/07/09/contraception...

I'll try to remember to post the next one in the series here, too, when I finish it.

Hello everyone… hope you all have been well and hard at work.  The past couple of months have had their share of ups and their share of downs but I have managed to write some new blog posts which you can find at http://write-2-be.com/ and even release an issue of my online magazine, http://write2bemagazine.com/.  I hope that you all will check it out and please follow and leave a comment with a link to your blogs because I am always looking for new blogs to follow and even to feature in my Write 2 Be Magazine.  For updates on Write 2 Be Magazine you can also like the Write 2 Be Magazine fan page and become a part of the magazine!  I look forward to reading your blogs!

Hi all... I'm a delinquent SheWrites member, no use to anyone for ages, but thought I'd try to connect a little.

I did a paid blog for the late lamented True/Slant.com with TONS of help and on WordPress platform, but now am on my own. I so, so miss the Zymanta pop-up list of images in public domain. Anybody found a simple substitute for it?

Hello everyone…. I have been hard at work but yet it feels like I have gotten absolutely nothing done.  Guess it’s a good thing that writers can write in their mind even when it doesn’t get put on paper, lol.  Please go check out my latest blog posts in which I wrote about living in the moment that you are in and celebrating where you are in your life now, about watching the circle of people that you surround yourself with and protecting yourself from people who are against you and what you stand for, and also about not placing our opportunities in boxes to be put on a shelf and learning how to ask God for what it is we want in this life and knowing that we deserve all that it is we want out of it.

So please show your support and check out my latest blog posts on my Write 2 Be blog and let me know what you think.  Also please go and check out the latest issue of Write 2 Be Magazine and like the Write 2 Be Magazine fan page for updates on what’s coming soon for the Magazine and how you can become a part of the magazine!

Okay so I am trying to get everything back on track and get myself motivated again.  I have come to the realization that I am not working nearly as hard as I should be or could be and I am looking to change that.  I have wasted far too much time trying to fit in with what others think my goals should be and know that I was never meant to be a part of the pack but rather standing out from them.  I have let my frustration at the lack of progression that I am seeing get the better of me and was failing to understand that I will wait for this dream to happen as long as it takes because that is my purpose in this world.  I am trying my best to lead by example for my daughter and implement in her not just the drive for her dream but that she was to put work into that driving force as well.  I was reminded of my initial influence in my writing career when Dr. Maya Angelou passed away last week and also of the fact that at some point you just have to understand that the fear will always be present.  You just can’t keep acting as if it’s not there and try to hide from that fear.  I understand with more clarity that with every victory that you achieve, there are battle scars that go along with them that you just have to embrace.  Fear cannot be sugarcoated or disguised as anything other than what it is.

The last several weeks have been stressful and challenging.  As a writer, technical difficulties such as having your internet not working is pretty much like throwing several wrenches into all the work that you are doing.  Since most of what I do I need the internet for I literally felt a little crippled in my craft.  But that doesn’t mean that I didn’t manage to get out a few blog posts during that time (that’s what libraries are for right, lol).  I questioned myself or more over had my choices of following my dream questioned by many people in the last few weeks so my posts were about sustaining my dreams, being optimistic even through challenges, seeking greatness and not mediocrity, taking better care of myself for creativity’s sake, listening to that inner voice, being halfway through the year with not many tasks checked off my goal list, and what the other side of quitting would look like to me.

Thank you for the advice Wendi, I am trying to work on focusing my energies on single projects at a time.  I'm getting better at it but I do slip into my old habits often.  Thanks again!

Hi Jimmetta - I liked your recent post. I have also been where you are, with so many different ideas that nothing really got done. I found that once I buckled down and concentrated on one story, it was much easier. Just note down the thoughts that try to distract you but stay focused. I think you'll find you will be much more productive!
