So, to help break the ice with introductions, I'll begin:
I'm Candy, and I'm from Brenham, Texas. I write a little of everything, from Picture Books to Adult Non-Fiction. I have lots of irons in many fires. I love reading and writing YA because it can be racy, yet safe and romantic, yet innocent. I am in love with writing, blogging, tending to my roses, teaching yoga, and being a mom. I'm also a huge fan of the Starbucks Cafe Soy Misto. (And one day, I want to have lunch with Janet Evanovich.)

I'm Sarena Straus, author, full time attorney, TV personality, wife and mom to two under four and a cool cat (deep breath in). I've published a work of non-fiction called "Bronx DA: True Stories from the Sex Crimes and Domestic Violence" (Barricade, 2006) and I write a blog called Sarena Straus' Blog: Criminal Minded. Justice Unblinded. I just finished my first YA novel, "Assimilation: The Gathering". It's currently out with my editor and beta readers. I also just completed a crime novel, which is in re-writes. How do I do it all, you ask? I'm teaching a Savvy Authors Webinar next Wednesday on How To Complete Your Novel When the World Conspires Against You (I love to teach as well). I'm also an avid scuba diver, but I can't seem to find the time. Hmmm...
Anyhow, I have to say that of everything I've written, that YA novel just flew onto the page. I couldn't get the words out of my fast enough and I can't wait to write the next two books in the series (I envision Assimilation as a trilogy). I agree with Candy - it's romantic, innocent, fun...and I loved the ability to create mail characters that I think teens can look up to.

This reply only took, what, 6 months??? Yes, I do a lot of TV and radio commentary on crime cases in the media. It's slowed down since Court TV/Tru TV moved to Atlanta, but I still do some here and there - most recent was Joy Behar. It actually started as I was promoting my book Bronx DA and then people kept calling. Practially speaking, it's great fun but does very little to sell books (unless it's Oprah or the Today Show). I found print publicity did much more for my sales...but I do love arguing on camera!

Hi all, I've been a longtime freelance fiction editor and book coach (and now I'm inching into ebook design) and have been slaving over my first novel for about 10 years. Thankfully, Artemis Rising (a YA historical fantasy based on two different mythologies) will launch this Sept 13, 2011! Whew.

When I'm not helping others with their fiction or writing my own, I'm an alpine ski host patroller and I dabble in indie filmmaking whenever I get the chance. I'm quite certain I have other hobbies, but I'm so busy I've not touched them in years. Ha ha!

It's great to know all this about you, Cheri. Oh my, you too are busy. I find it interesting that many of us writers / authors / editors have multiple jobs or masks we wear. Some days, I run around switching masks so quickly, it's difficult to keep up!

I think I just got 'Artemis Rising' for my kindle! I've gotten so many over the last few weeks I can't keep track, but the name sounds familiar! Can't wait to read it - I just published my own YA Greek mythology book so I'm completely obsessed with it right now! Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Hannah and creator of this page but owe everything else to Angela Hansen and Candy Fite! I'm a YA writer, mom, wife, etc...I work as a writing coach/editor/tutor and teach writing classes both online and live. (I was a high school English teacher). I hang out too much at Starbucks (even with my two little kids in tow). For all the other details about me (books, blog, awards, and degrees) you can go to mywebsite. Hi all,
I am a mom, a teacher, an admissions reader, and a writer - with writing beginning now to take up more space in my life as my children are taking up less!
I am working on a YA novel called "Dream Mom" about an adopted Chinese teen coming to terms with some of the identity issues she faces as an Asian girl in a white family.
The idea has been sitting with me for a long time, but now it's coming along nicely!
