MELISSA DICKEY

"I just wanted to say thank you for everything you taught me during our creative writing class. It really reawakened my love of writing. I feel like my writing has come a long way just over the course of this one class. You are an amazing teacher."

Caitlin Wallace

Description of Services

Melissa has been a practitioner, student, and teacher of poetry writing for over a decade, and would love to share her expertise with you. She believes having fellow poets as readers is crucial for developing one's own craft. How important it is to find a willing and able ear for your work! This is what she will strive to provide for you. She'll critique on both the large and small scales -- the ordering of a manuscript, the word by word comb over -- as well as give support, encouragement, and a fresh perspective. Poetry is a highly specialized field which demands its own sort of knowledge and attention. Don't sell yourself short.

Anne Liu replied to the discussion 'Where to Begin...' in the group Your First Novel
