Who I am:

I was born and raised in Brooklyn by West Indian parents. I traveled to South Africa on a Fulbright scholarship in 2005, where I received an M.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Cape Town. I have been a resident at Hedgebrook and received the Archie D. and Bertha H. Walker scholarship at the Fine Arts Work Center. In fall 2011, I will be starting the fiction program at the Iowa Writers Workshop.
