My goal today is to edit and revise chapter 10 on the novel I'm working on... and be FINISHED with the whole thing at the end of November. Thanks Kamy - what a great way to spread encouragement and accountability!

Fabulous! I love the dust jacket copy, your pitch, your thoughtful insights, all of it! What a great way of thinking about marketing your work. Can't wait to read the book.

Hi Mary, Thanks for your feedback! On yours - I really like the second one "Wild Soul" but essential nature doesn't seem as strong as some of the other descriptors. How about "Wild Soul: Awakening the Nature from Within."

I think the title is perfect! I used to work in the corporate marketing department for a major retailer and we worked with a lot of blue collar models! It's a lot of hard work for everyone, not all that glamorous.

Hi Rachel, Love the book concept! I think the word "solitude" should come first, i.e. "Solitude: Dancing in the Temple of the Holy Self."

I have co-written a novel. It's satire "mommy-lit," in the same vein as "The Nanny Diaries" but told from the mother's perspective (basically, busy mom employs nanny from hell, hilarity and chaos ensues). We thought…

Hi Allison, I'm so glad we got to meet IRL! Your suggestion to meet at Mosaic some time sounds like a good idea. Let's keep that in mind for future reference. Our Next Seattle SW Salon will take place at Elliott Bay Books 7/28, I hope you can come that evening!

Hi Allison,

Didn't know you are writing a Chick Lit book. Agents are hard to come by. Mine came to me through a writer in Colorado. I don't think she does Chick Lit. I'm not currently recommending writers to my agent because we've just established our relationship. It's tough in the publishing world. I recommend to start researching and when it's finished, start sending it out. One place you might try for Seattle editors is Girl Friday Productions. I highly recommend Ingrid Emerick there who used to be an acquisitions editor at Seals Press. She helped me so much. I don't know if she's taking clients right now, but she's GREAT! She also helped edit books for the president of Moms Rising who is my husband's yoga student. Good Luck!

Hi there -- just wanted to drop by your page and invite you personally (or at least virtually) to our first-ever She Writes Seattle meetup, celebrating our first-anniversary! We are so grateful to the event's organizer, Judith van Praag, for taking a risk and stepping up to host. I hope you will support her and bring yourself and other women who write (no need for them to be members) to the Seattle gathering. At the meetup writers will take part in the She Writes "Book Communion," where attendees arrive with one book, their own or another She Writers', new or gently used, and leave with another book as a meaningfully way to support one another's work. We will also be blowing out a candle and making a wish for our upcoming writing year -- along with She Writers gathering in 16 cities around the country. I hope you will be part of this historic (well, at least kind of cool) occasion, and RSVP now to Judith here.
