as i scroll and scroll through all the SHE WRITES books, i am in complete and utter awe. how gorgeous and rich and inspiring and powerful and poignant and moving and brilliant and stunning and encouraging and enlightening and ... i am in such awe of all of us, each of us who write and create and share and open our souls and hearts and share our pain and sorrow and happiness and wisdom and joy and creativity; and create magic with our words.
i am in awe.

AMY!!!
I just finished your book this morning! Wow.
I mean, I loved the first three quarters- there were moments I actually laughed out loud. It was cute, smart, funny... But that epilogue! Holy crap! That killed me. It could have gone on and on and I would have still been laying in my bed at 3 pm reading it and ignoring my family.
Your writing is so warm and open, I felt like I was just hanging out talking with my best friend. What a great talent- to be able to convey that kind of feeling to your reader.
Kudos, girl!
Loved it!

"i personally like a good mess. whether it's in a memoir, or in my bedroom... or my kitchen.
i don't want all tied up neatly, or perfect or saying the right things because someone might get offended. i do, i admit, like sometimes for there to be a trail of toilet paper....
cause then i know life has been lived."

I LOVE THAT! You rock!
Man, I missed a few days of logging on to She Writes and WOW- Seems like a lot happened and who the hell is Nanette????
Ha ha ha
I am loving your blog, and your book- almost done. then I'm giving it to my writer friend Cindy Sleman who follows your blog too. I'm going to let her read it but then I'm going to make sure she buys her own copy!!!
Rock on girl.

Wowa girl, you are busy! I have been writing in my journal and writing memoir for 30+ years and am getting tired of writing about myself, so started writing poetry, but it ended up also being memoir. I've just edited a book coming out this month, WRITERS AND THEIR NOTEBOOKS. Was a fun project, but am really needing a literary change. I'm trying to decide between humor writing or studying Buddhism, since I realized that Clooney is beyond my reach, even though I know someone who knows him!

Would you be willing to be interviewed on my blog, Lessons from the Monk I Married?? I'd love to somehow chat more. Are you in the Seattle area? I'm new to this She Writes and still looking for writers with common interests.

Your book was published through Seals Press. I'm working with a former Editor of Seals Press now...would love to chat. My book and blog are called Lessons from the Monk I Married, about my 13-year journey with my husband, a former Korean Buddhist monk. I've added you as a friend.

I'm always delighted, when at the close of reading my latest book, I can flip to the back and see what the author looks like. Sometimes I'm surprised, and sometimes the author looks similar to the way I envisioned them. But it's when there's no phot…
