I just saw that you added the screenplay art prompt to the profile. Thanks. That was fast and thoughtful turn-around to my suggestion. Very much appreciated. Im noticing a lot of my friends aren't in groups...maybe send an email to all 1,200…
oh gosh, no idea how to do that but I will add it to my list.
I updated the profile questions, btw. I am going to send a message to the screenwriting group about it. If you go back to your page and hit "edit" next to where it says…
I was specifically talking about when you look at your friend, just a box and their photo shows up with their name and location. I was suggesting adding their genre to that box, so that when you just glanced at people, you would see what their genre…
hi: Regarding the movie/tv posters I would just make the question on the profile broader to include images of film or tv programs that you have worked on/are working on. You can also send emails to the writers in the screenwriting group requesting…
Most writers should have answered the question about genre, it's the only one we made mandatory. At the same time I am going to encourage everyone to take advantage of the text boxes on their pages, where you can add whatever you want to your…
Hi, one other thought...it would be nice if the profile that you viewed when you look at your friends included the writer's genre: fiction, screenwriting, memoir etc. I think it's cool to see all the different writers on this site. Maybe…
Hi, glad to see you joined. Join the screenwriters group, and the LA group. It's amazing how quickly word has spread about this site. I hope other LHWW members join. What a great resource and connector. x

On Jan 9th, 2010 my debut novel, SUGAR will celebrate its 10th anniversary and in order to commemorate this milestone I am campaigning to sell 10,000 copies between now and that date.
“Bernice L. McFadden's first novel begins with the brief, poetic description of a crime so startling that the reader is helplessly drawn in, as if a bright red door stood ajar on a bleak and forbidding house. Pearl Taylor's daughter, Jude, has been found murdered and mutilated near a field at the edge of town. "The murder had white man written all over it," writes McFadden. "But no one would say it above a whisper. It was 1940. It was Bigelow, Arkansas. It was a black child. Need any more be said?" In the years that follow, Pearl catches sight of Jude in so many strangers that when Sugar Lacey comes to town and sets up her unwholesome "business" in the house next door, she doesn't know whether to believe what she sees in Sugar's face: a striking similarity to Jude, dead 15 years. In her sedate but supple prose--rising at times to a light, unforced lyricism in the description of landscape or character--the author perfectly renders the closed and protective society of a small Southern town, the superstitions, gossip, and prying.”
I’m asking that you purchase a copy of SUGAR for yourself, a friend or family member. And yes, KINDLE purchases count.
If you could help spread the word by blogging, twittering ad Face-booking my campaign, it would mean the world to me.

Most writers should have answered the question about genre, it's the only one we made mandatory. At the same time I am going to encourage everyone to take advantage of the text boxes on their pages, where you can add whatever you want to your page -- bio, pics, anything. Any more thoughts on movie posters? We'd love to get them into the rotation, which we just updated for the first time in our one-week history. :)
Maybe you can reach out to Hope Edelman, who is our LA salonniere and has a wonderful network there. But there is always room (especially in a town like LA) for more, and tomorrow I am going to post about how to start a salon!
Hi! I got your email about featuring screenwriters and TV writers, who are absolutely real writers (I started out writing for TV, but schlocky stuff in the beginning of reality-world), and I would love to find a way to feature them on She Writes. Amy (who I see you have "met" here) had a great idea that we should upload jpegs of movie posters, posters for plays, and (I assume) something like that exists for television too. Maybe it is also possible to use the video function on your page? Videos that you post to your site get featured on the "videos" tab (see the left hand side of the main page) and we can elevate them further by featuring them there. Trailers are very very welcome.
So glad you are here!! I hope you will invite members of the League of Hollywood Women Writers and get them onto She Writes; starting a group that brought them together here would be an excellent way to network and organize.
Thanks, Laura. What's your Twitter handle and I'll add you to my follow list? I tried to post your post to Twitter but the She Writes site is pretty wonky and it wouldn't obey! It's a good post so maybe you can tweet it so it…
