First Post, New Normal
I just want to leave a short post thanking y'all for letting me join this group of amazing women. I read today that two-thirds of people go back to their 'old' lives before cancer treatment. . .re-nter the world swimming like a fish. I'm part of the other third. One of my personal endeavors is to let it be known that some of us need more time to get used to a 'new normal'. Who we are and how we engage with the world is altered due to surgery or radiation damage to tissue and lingering…See More

- Who I am:
- I am a stage 3 rectal cancer trooper. . .free of cancer almost three years. I have a genetic disease called FAP (familial adenoma polyposis). I am a poet and blogger, ammiblog.wordpress.com. And a website, 12poets.com.

- Book of my cancer journey will be published next year, March 2012. I recently was published in Warwick Review, Englnad. Nominated for the Forward Prize there as well. "Chest" Magazine. Also in "Woman Prayers" anthology.

I just want to leave a short post thanking y'all for letting me join this group of amazing women.
