Funny Women

I want to encourage women to submit to humor venues. I urge you; I implore you. Let’s start a revolution and change the world’s mind about who’s funny. Your heart will swell with accomplishment and your breasts will become larger. This I promise.

Unmarketable: Brandalism, Copyfighting, Mocketing, and the Erosion of Integrity: "Cultural resistance" and "DIY" (do-it-yourself) now denote both a recognizable demographic to target and a strategic way for marketers to promote their products. As the endless pursuit of the youth market demands ever-edgier tactics, whole social networks, communal economies, and value systems are put in jeopardy. Unmarketable is both a powerful critique of corporate marketing's appropriations of and alliances…See More

Hi there--just wanted to drop by your page and invite you personally to our first-ever She Writes Boston meetup, celebrating She Writes' one-year anniversary! The Boston gathering will be hosted by none other than Jaclyn Friedman, author of "Yes Means Yes: Visions of Female Sexual Power and a World Without Rape (and one of Publishers' Weekly's Top 100 Books of 2009)," and visionary leader of Women, Action Media (WAM!). At the meetup writers will take part in the She Writes "Book Communion," where attendees arrive with one book, their own or another She Writers', new or gently used, and leave with another book as a meaningfully way to support one another's work. We will also be blowing out a candle and making a wish for our upcoming writing year -- along with She Writers gathering in 16 cities around the country. I hope you will be part of this historic (well, at least kind of cool) occasion, and RSVP now to Jaclyn here.

"A standalone book app could cost $15,000 to $20,000." How about just a few hundred instead? http://dld.bz/a75x2
