Author of Laughing Feminism: Subversive Comedy in Frances Burney, Maria Edgeworth, and Jane Austen; editor of Jane Collier's Essay on the Art of Ingeniously Tormenting. Contributor to Bitchfest: Ten Years of Cultural Criticism from the Pages of Bitch Magazine, eds. Lisa Jervis and Andi Zeisler and the forthcoming anthology Dear John, I Love Jane: Women Write about Leaving Men for Women, eds. Candace Walsh and Laura Andre. I have written two screenplays, one an adaptation of Charlotte Lennox's Female Quixote, entitled "Beautiful Dreamer," and the other a girl-girl love story called "Psyched" (co-written with Eberle Umbach).
