I'm a believer that it is our stories that make us uniquely human and that sharing them is how we most intimately understand one another. Stories are the connective tissue between individuals, groups, tribes, and nations helping us to gain and maintain empathy across our differences. As an author, as a therapist for over 25 years, and as a public speaking coach, it is my constant endeavor to find my own clearest, truest voice, and to help others do the same.

I am one of the lucky "first wave" authors, published by She Writes Press. My debut novel, Fire & Water was published on March 1st, 2013.My memoir, Filling Her Shoes: A Memoir of an Inherited Family arrived in May 2017. I've recently launched a helpful book for writers: From Page to Stage: Inspiration, Tools, and Public Speaking Tips for Writers.

I'm writing a new novel...admittedly slowly, to be published in July 2023.
