Tempting Fate

Why is it that we are so often tempted to test fate? I know it’s human nature, and yet it makes me crazy when adults in particular do so repeatedly. When adults tempt fate with kids in the car it really makes me crazy, and when an adult has been asked not to do it again, but does, I am at a loss to understand why.I have very…See More

What I learned From Kickstarter.com

Posted on November 12, 2011 at 8:54pm 0 Comments

It may be too soon to write this, because I've just been told we did not reach our funding goal, and although I saw it coming, I am heartbroken. I was hoping to fund a production of my musical "Room to Grow", a contemporary show about a large artistic family that moves into the "Perfect" neighborhood.

I thought I had done my research before we launched, and went into this confident that we could make this happen. I tweeted, facebooked, and reached out to other bloggers. I managed to…

You could always start with smaller PHs, build your readership, then as your writing skills grow, build up to an agent and big publishers.
At 7:19pm on August 23, 2011, Aidana WillowRaven said…
Well, it's only typically 15% of your royalty, which is only 4%-10%, depending on the PH. That comes to pennies per book for you, and fractions of pennies for them. It's very little for someone who knows the ins and outs of major publishers. Not to mention the fact that over half of the publishers out there, and all the big ones, require an agent.

Glad we're friends and Thank You for your feedback on the opening line of my N/F book.

Already I admire you, since I have very little imagination and you're ready to publish 4 novels!

I'm from New York, Manhattan, and I'm currently living near Atlanta Ga. And yes, I totally agree with you, $43 to take 2 little girls to the movies is ridiculous.
