Jump off the Balcony

Don’t ring up Social Services… they land on the couch. Then they squeal in delight and run up the stairs to do it again.Today I decided to try it myself. Eleanor Roosevelt said, ”It takes courage to love…”

Sorry Eleanor, but I disagree. I think it’s easy to love.

There was a time in my life when I loved him and he loved another. Lying alone on the cold tile of our bathroom floor I wished I didn’t love. I wondered what was wrong with me. I wished I was her and I prayed for courage.

Many years later I can see clearly now: It’s easy to love. It takes courage to stop… Continue

An Interview with Myself - The She Writes Knowledge Faire 2010

A folk singer? That sounds about right! Yes, I spell it with an i, but inadvertently, others spell it however they desire. My grandfather chose my name from the sitcom 'Family Affair'. I had the Ms. Beasley doll baby, sucked my thumb (and in times of sheer distress still do, but privately and sparingly), and had similar character traits to Buffi on the show. Nobody ever called me any other name until school started. Even then, in a time of neighborhood schools, Elizabeth only lasted for two weeks into any given school year!
