Sensuality & Food

Hello everyone! I am interested in your thoughts on combining food writing and sex writing. There are some questions in regard to how the public eye perceives the sensual and erotic in regards to food. I write about both, and I am a new blogger. Innocently enough, I just began blogging and linked both my erotica blog with my (sensual) food blog. I noticed that an online food resource website, Monkey Dish, linked to mine as…See More

Perimenopause Is Not A Place In Thailand

I woke up at five in the morning to my three-year-old daughter’s foot in my scapula. She found the exact spot where I am in the most pain. Tension. The awareness of morning crept in. My low back was aching. It felt like three in the morning, but with all the wiggling, I cannot sleep, and, finally, I am just awake. Gosh, she wiggles. My lower back, particularly on the left side, has been gnawing in dull throbs of pain. My neck is tight to the point of cutting off circulation to my left hand,…See More

Profile Information

Who I am:
I'm an erotica writer, foodie, poet, blogger, essayist. Also an artist, former burlesque dancer, epicurean, sensualist. Mother of three children.

I love being a domestic goddess (in my spare time), usually found in the kitchen, cooking magical soups in clay pots, seductively wearing an apron, with a sprig of thyme behind my ear. Instead of what I think is thyme behind my ear, I find smeared pancake batter or my daughter's glitter glue.

I aspire to write like M.F.K. Fisher and Anais Nin.

twitter: butterflydujour
Books I've written, anthologies I've contributed to, and any scripts or plays I've authored:
Creating two new blogs, www.eroticadujour.com and www.thesensualfoodie.com

Creating an aphrodisiac cookbook based on The Sensual Foodie (dot) com
Writing personal essays, articles, and recipes.

My personal essay "Perimenopause Is Not A Place In Thailand" is in final draft--- searching for a relevant publication to submit it to currently.

I am also writing non-fiction/personal essays on sex, love, & motherhood, life experiences as a burlesque dancer, memoir, and other things that cross my mind, like food. I love writing about sex and food. Life, in other words. Food, sex, and motherhood. Life.

Writing short erotic stories based on Edo-period Japan.

Beginning to write my first erotic romance novel, The Desire Club (working title so far)

Plenty of pieces stored in my head and laptop, just beginning to pull them out of the invisible into the visible.
Media outlets that I currently write for:
Just published my first article, exclusive to Sensuality News and Anne of Carversville:
http://www.anneofcarversville.com/women/the-history-of-modern-women...

This is the first of a monthly article for AOC and Sensuality News.

i am currently looking to write for sex-positive woman-inspired publications.
My writing is:
Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, Memoir, Blog Posts
Outlets where I review books, TV, or film:
yes on my blog www.eroticadujour.com
I'm part of these writers' groups or salons:
When I lived in New Orleans, I was a part of a Women's Writing Circle. It was more or less an excuse to get together with the girls and have drinks.
