I'm so happy you enjoyed the video! My coeditor, Elrena Evans, and I continue to do readings wherever we can to help spread the word about the book and connect more women who are interested in issues facing mothers working in higher education…
Contributors Jennifer Cognard-Black, Della Fenster, Caroline Grant and Libby Gruner read from their essays in Mama, PhD: Women Write About Motherhood and Academic Life (Rutgers University Press, 2008)
Binnie is fantastic, isn't she? I wish NPR would hire her; she's as good as Teri Gross.
What was your name when you had Edward as a teacher? He doesn't remember "Grant"
Glad to connect!

Yes, same here. I had some enthusiasm from a major CBA pub, but then sales and marketing said no. It's at a great house, a smaller house, right now---again, begun with an enthusiastic yes. Now waiting to hear from the people who have to keep the house afloat. This is positively the worst time to be selling a ms!! If this is a no, I'm going to sit on it and wait for the economy to strengthen. Cheers--let's keep the faith!!
Hi Caroline. I picked you to welcome because you look exactly like my niece, Caroline, who lives across the country, and who I miss! I joined SheWrites yesterday at the invitation of some colleagues from the UCLA Writing Program. They're great women and great writers, so I figured it would be a great thing. I'm not familiar with Literary Mama, but I will go check it out. I'm the mom of two teenage girls, and life is full! Cheers, Jennie
