Who I am:

I am a pediatrician and a writer. My web site is www.carolynroybornstein.com. My essays have appeared in many literary and medical journals including JAMA, Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, Patient Education and Counseling, Brain,Child, Literary Mama, and Chicken Soup for the Soul: Grieving and Recovery. My fiction has appeared in the Charles River Review and Hospital Drive and won third place from a field of nearly 8000 entries in Writer's Digest Short Short Story Competition in 2004. I am a contributor to CommonHealth, WBUR's health blog.

My memoir CRASH! about my teenage son's brain injury at the hands of a drunk driver has found an agent and my book proposal has been in the hands of Random House, Simon & Schuster, St. Martin's Press, Algonquin and HarperCollins for 2 weeks now. Fingers crossed!
