LONG LEAF, AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE

A book by Bill Finch, Beth Maynor Young, Rhett Johnson, and John C. Hall. With a foreword by E.O. Wilson.Although I did not write this book, I want to announce the release of this wonderful work of nonfiction. A dear friend of mine, Beth Young, took most of the beautiful photographs featured in this informative book about the history, decline, and possible future of longleaf pines. I also helped my fiance, Hunter Nichols, bring the following book commercial to fruition (he produced it, and I…See More

Profile Information

Who I am:
I am a starving artist, an identical twin, a runner, and a chocoholic. I grew up on a beef and tobacco farm in Kentucky. Despite my tomboyish roots, at age seven, I told my mother that I wanted nothing more than to dance for the rest of my life. So that is exactly what I did for almost sixteen years: ballet. About two years ago, after I stopped deluding myself that one day I would somehow wake up with the perfect ballet body, I finally shut the door on dance to begin a new chapter of my life. I have discovered many other outlets through which to express myself, including but not limited to visual art, writing, and music composition. I hope to reenter academia this upcoming fall for biomedical engineering, of all things, but in the meantime, I think I'll just write...and paint, and make music...
Books I've written, anthologies I've contributed to, and any scripts or plays I've authored:
I'm seeking representation for a Women's Fiction novel, PAPER PLANE.
My writing is:
Fiction, Poetry, Memoir
Services I offer to other writers:
critiques
I found out about She Writes from:
Well, I actually stumbled upon this site online just now.

Welcome to the novelist group, Catherine! If you haven’t done so already, you might introduce yourself by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion.

We do a live chat at 1 EST on the first Wednesdays of each month, with instructions on how to participate in the "Our Water Cooler" box near the top of the group page. And we save the wall for discussion, but welcome links to helpful blog posts on the “Links to Helpful Blog Posts for Writers” discussion thread and to published books in the “Our Published Novels” one.

I hope you’ll enjoy the group.

"These are great Veronica and Karen. Thanks for suggesting them. I love the rant notion and the physical one.  Somewhere, in some box, is my Natalie Goldberg book. I'll have to dig that out, too. "
