If there's something timely, or an identifiable group, or a relevant group/listserv/community w/easily identifiable numbers then I'd include them.
The marketing section of your proposal could look something like this:
Readership and Promotions
{This book} will be accessible to all readers interested in XYZ. It is intended as a XYZ. This title would also be appropriate for XYZ.
