Short and Sweet - the Skinny on the Weather

Summer has doused us with more than a few steamy hot and humid days here in Michigan this season already...and that's something we're not use to in both June and July! In fact much of these months have been very strange since we've bounced from quite cold to terribly hot and then fell into the hot and humid as if we were the deep South rather than the upper Midwest.I wonder where the weather will go next? That is a difficult question with what we've had already this year. We'll just have to…See More

A Season of Change

The Midwest is known for our four seasons, and the fall colors can almost rival any other part of the country. For me the Fall is the beginning of the best seasons of the whole year. I love the changes that begin with the first leaf that falls! The smells and events that give that crisp new start to as season of color, and then the one season that if the weather is right can be so magical - and a time to slow down from a world that goes way to fast most of the time.

I'm loving this… Continue

Summer Life

Posted on August 10, 2009 at 8:39pm 0 Comments

Summer has finally arrived - at the beginning of August. We've had mostly fall like weather for most of this season. For many it has created a great deal of angst and frustration and pictures in most newspapers these days are of people curled up in huge towels on docks gazing longingly into the waters below. That's what summer has become this year, deep longing for what is missing.

Hi Christi, I noticed your blog post announcement under new activities, and thought Broersma, that's Dutch, only to see Holland MI on your page. I can totally find myself in your thought on civility or the lack there of and I left a comment on your blog.
But wanted to share the link to SIRE (Foundation of Ideal Advertising - addresses issues in society that need more attention) here as well. Even if you can't read the Dutch in the sidebar, you may get the drift of the animated pictures about pas op! aardige mensen = watch out! Nice folks Click on any one of the five in the row.
