Thanks for your comment, Sonya. "A work in progress quickly becomes feral" - my WIP exactly. I haven't finished reading Annie Dillard. I had to put her book down for a few different reasons, but I'd like to go back to it. Parts of her book read ve…

Christi, this book is a kind of Bible for me (and Annie Dillard is a kind of guru in my mind). "How we spend out days is, of course, how we spend our lives." I also think often, when I'm writing, about "I don't so much write a book as sit up with it…

Happy. Content. Peaceful.

Wednesday's Word

Keeping up with Wed's word of the day

Every Wednesday I click on Wordsmith.org and think of a way to incorporate Today's Word into a post. It's a challenge and a risk, since I give myself by midnight on Wednesday to publish - and hopefully publish something decent. But the exercise keeps me writing, even when I don't like the word "in hand."

Finally, a moment to write....

With the hustle and bustle of the last week, and visitors this week, I'm struggling to find time to write. Not to mention the overwhelming urge to throw out a mess of old items to make way for the new.

But, with writing, you can't purge.

That non-MFA thing had me bummed out for a while, but then someone pointed out that unless I wanted to teach, I could spent that money attending conferences and meeting agents. I took that advice. It was a much better way to spend my time and my money!

I'm not sure where I stand on this issue. It's a toss up for me as well. I have been vacillating constantly as to whether I should go the self-publishing route or the traditional. I really look forward to seeing some discussion on this matter.
