Ed's Dream

It's a typical Sunday morning and I'm up at dawn. I jerked awake quickly, to the sound of the dog whining and crashing around in his crate. I quickly went to check on him, to discover him asleep, having a nightmare/doggymare of some sort. He was twitching and making puppy noises, so I woke him up. He seemed disoriented, but happy to see me, so I took him out for a morning potty walk around the yard. When we came back in, he looked in his food bowl, saw it was still empty, and voluntarily put him… Continue

I Got a Yahtzee!

You could hear her voice echoing throughout the house, “I got a yahtzee! I got a yahtzee!” Grandma was gleeful, she was loud and most of all, she was competitive. When it came to her game, she was one serious opponent. As children, we dreaded her invitation to come into the kitchen and play. She didn't take our young feelings into consideration. She didn't take our bedtimes or our short attention spans into consideration, either. No, when it came to Yahtzee, it was a game she was playing to win.… Continue

Cynthia,

Thank you so very much for your comment. Your comments as a fellow writer are valuable to me. I'm not a professional....just a mom writing about my daughter and life.

I'm looking forward to reading your writing....I am new to this group!

Glad you enjoyed The Wednesday Sisters, Cynthia. The writing group in the novel definitely draws from my own writing group. 4 of us in its final iteration, only one small travel article between us when we started. Now 7 books published or being written under contract (all but one of us has published a book) and everyone has articles, stories, and poems published. Really a wonderful group. :-)
