Who I am:
I live aboard a 30' sailboat which is currently berthed in California. I justify my writing habit by living a frugal and minimalist lifestyle. My dog is my constant, and I mean constant, companion. I write a blog and a web docucomic about life as a LiveAboard, and have just started one about the problem of Water Hyacinth proliferation in the Delta. I am a former beat reporter for a daily newspaper in VT and used to be a freelance magazine contributor. I have three novels and several picture books in the hopper.

You get $50 off your first order which makes your first 500 business cards free. Use Referral Code: RP1JT7C56 when you go to their site. Do not enter billing info. Click "will call in later" to allow the form to function. To SW, I hope this fits in with the permissions of the group. We all need biz cards and it helps my publishing goals too. Thank you.

Cynthia, just wanted to follow up on the novelist group discussion. The way you pitch the business cards here on your home page is pretty effective. Perfectly appropriate to mention that in the chat. But somehow it did come across as "let me take your order now" on the chat, and the chat is more ... something. We don't ever say "please buy my book" either, although it would certainly be a supportive thing to buy each others' books. We're just going for casual support, really. So many people have things to sell, and we're just trying to keep it from being a "buy me" list.

Very fun!

Loved your piece. Reminded me of all the Kudzo growing in the South -- like all successful forms of life...

We're delighted to have you in the novelist group! You might introduce yourself by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion if you're not too uncomfortable talking about what you're working on. We save the wall for discussion, so please refrain from linking to blog posts there, but do add them in the “Links to Helpful Blog Posts for Writers” discussion thread.

And we do a live chat every Wednesday at 1EST; instructions on how to participate are in the "Our Water Cooler Wednesdays" box near the top of the group page.
