Profile Information

Who I am:
I decided about twenty-five years ago that I wanted to be a writer. Three years later I went to rehab, and started writing the twelve steps. In 1992 I returned to school. No great surprise, I got addicted to school and stayed for three degrees and thirteen years. Oh well, an accidental PhD perhaps, but I did learn how to write. From my head. My new blog (my second) is my attempt to write from my heart. Trying to figure out if I am a writer yet, as well as discover the meaning of life. Some days I am optimistic on both accounts.

I just wrote a blog about being diagnosed with depression and anxiety arising from over-work. Cried all day yesterday, feeling lighter today as I realize how ridiculous I have been.

Trusting my intution when it comes to freakish coincidences (see previous post) is one thing. Trying to interpret when something is really just a freakish coincidence and perhaps not a profound message from the universe is something entirely different.

I spent the past few hours writing up the previous post because I was moved to do so by the events that inspired the post in the first place. All of what I say happened, all of my feelings as written are true, nothing… Continue

"When do we stop missing our dead mothers?" your title asks, to which I respond, "Or our very much alive mothers, who have disowned us." Thanks for the thoughtful piece.
