Debbie, Belated welcome to the novelist group; we're delighted to have you join us! If you haven’t done so already, you might introduce yourself by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion. We do a live chat Wednesdays at 1 EST; instructions on how to participate are in the "Our Water Cooler" box near the top of the group page. Do join us! And we save the wall for discussion, but welcome links to helpful blog posts on the “Links to Helpful Blog Posts for Writers” discussion thread.

And congrats on the writing awards! Do you write about photography at all? I love the art, and have included photographer protagonists in my first and third novels, as well as one I'm currently working on.

Bestselling Author of four novels, including The Wednesday Sisters (a writing group novel), and the forthcoming The Wednesday Daughters (all Random House/Ballantine)

Hello Debbie!

I want to Thank You for joining my group Blooming Late! I think that its great that you are pursuing your writing dream! While I know you think you are truly "Blooming Late" because of your age, in this group you are simply somewhere in the middle, we have ladies who are almost 90 in here so you have a lot of time to write still!

I took the liberty of checking out your blog from the link in your profile above and absolutely LOVE the backround! The whole thing is very creative and pleasing to the eye and writing about your geneology is a great topic. I think you are already doing a good job at writing! It was also interesting you would join at this time as I just got into my geneology a bit again due to the mini series on the Hatfield/McCoys. I am great great granddaughter of the Hatfield known as Cap and I always used to say as a joke that it was the McCoys fault, but after getting back into everything from the series it makes me see that I was right! lol AND after all this time of readong about my family due to the series theres a lot more history about them on the web adn I found out where my writing desire comes from, apparently Cap was a writer especially in his later years. It was a nice thing to find out where the writing genes come from. I am sure you have similar interesting things you have found out from your geneology!

Anyway, we are more than ahppy to have you in our group and looking forward in helping your writing anyway we can!

Now let me fill you in a little about us here at Blooming Late-

There are many wonderful women like you here in our group from all over the world of all ages, genres and levels of writing who are a real source of support, encouragement and inspiration. I hope that you will be able to make your writing home with us!

Please, when you have time let us get to know you a bit better by posting in our "To kick things off" discussion or if you don't feel like doing an extensive intro. then just say Hello" on our wall on the front page.

We have just started something new here too. We have launched our own group platform,we have our own group blog called "The Blooming Late Journal" which link can be found in our Discussion area if you would like to write a post in there and then plug your blog, your book and your own platform once you have them but you can write about anything anytime.

Then we have our own Twitter hashtag so we can talk to each other in there as well as make sure to re-tweet each others blog posts and important links, etc. It is #BLWriters - just add it to any of your tweets so the group can see them by looking for the hashtag.

And best of all, we have our own  Facebook Fanpage under "Blooming Late Authors", please LIKE the page and then feel free to do your plugging in there as well as put things in there that you may find useful or fun for the group to see.

We would like it also, if as time allows, you would "friend" everyone in the group in here as well as in Facebook and Twitter so that our groups publicity potential is maximized for all the writing work we do and is seen out there on the net.

We have a PAGES section to the left of the group wall where you can list your great blog as well as your FB/Twitter handles if you have them (which I would ask on the latter, if you could get that up right away so that everyone could connect with you), among other things like your birthday etc.

We also have useful DISCUSSION areas that might be a help to your writing. You can choose to follow as many or as little Discussions as will interest and help you,we don't have any requirements on how much anyone participates but I would ask if you will set your settings in here to recieve the group emails so that you can be kept up on anything important in the group as a whole. On average I only email the entire group once a month.

Also, if there's anything I can
