Not Just a Back-Up Plan: When Self Publishing Should Be Your First Choice

I just got off the phone with one of my author clients, who is writing a book that she hopes will increase her business profile. When I recommended that she consider self publishing, she immediately discounted it, even though it was clear to me it would be the best course of action for her. I could almost see her wrinkle her nose and say “Eww,” like it was something dirty. Self publishing has come a long way from the days when DIY…See More

I am currently editing my first manuscript.  (It is a fiction/ horror/historical/romance & family drama.) I took the liberty to read information you listed on your web site and it is very helpful.  It reinforced the process I have been imploying, and it gave me a boost of confidence.  It can be a struggle to keep one self motivated at times!  I am also working on a collection of poems my siter wrote - formatting it for her to publish on Amazon.  I really appreciate the information you have made available, and may need your services some day (soon?).  Elisabeth

With apologies for being tardy with my welcome, we're delighted to have you in the novelist group, Diane!

You might introduce yourself by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion if you're not too uncomfortable talking about what you're working on. We save the wall for discussion, so please refrain from linking to blog posts there, but do add them in the “Links to Helpful Blog Posts for Writers” discussion thread.

And we do a live chat every Wednesday at 1EST; instructions on how to participate if you haven't done so already are in the "Our Water Cooler Wednesdays" box near the top of the group page.
