Lynn, thanks for the invite. I was a member for one year but didn't re-up. It was not them; it was me. Too lazy to get involved. Happy though to see you on these couch potato sites.

Hi Alison,
Thanks for noting our Aug. 23, 4 p.m. Women and Children First book reading on this member events roundup. We're hoping to see Chicago members of SheWrites in the audience. It'll be great to meet them in person.
Best,
Elaine
Hi, Elaine. Glad to see you here! I started a Chicago page, then didn't know who to invite. Someone else started a Chicago area page and there are about 30 people in it. We plan to consolidate.
Go ahead and join their group. (It's a little…

Hey, Elaine, this is a casual way of doing this, but would you like to join the Society of Midland Authors? You qualify, having done two books. We have monthly programs downtown, usually at the Cliff Dwellers on Michigan Avenue. Lots of great people there and prestigious members--although I can't promise the big names show up. We have a banquet dinner every year and give awards for best fiction, best nf, best biography, etc. and then the big dogs tend to show. I think it's a great organization and have met great people. Let me know if you are interested--here or on Facebook. Lynn

Go ahead and join their group. (It's a little confusing because it looks like there about five of them, but it's the on with the most people.) I plan to go over there too. I want them to use my photo art though, because they have none, yet none of us are sure how to do this.
Thanks.
