The Book Launch!

I have finally chosen a date for the book launch!  December 14 is the big day.  For those of you who have been following I know I took a lot longer than I originally said I would.  I know, I know, what took me so long?  Mostly, nerves.  And  I wanted to be sure Breathe was as good as I could make it.  I still have a lot to learn about being an author so it has been baby steps for me.  I appreciate everyone’s encouragement! I can’t wait to share it with you all.Now for the good part!  I will be…See More

Is This The End or Just The Beginning?

I have been working pretty hard and have finally finished the first draft of book two. I made this goal to be done “writing” it by my birthday.  I hit my goal which of course felt like a pretty cool accomplishment... until I started thinking.  (We know this is never a good idea for me) It’s really not such a big deal.  It’s not like the work is over.  It’s really just beginning.I have so much I need and want to do to it to make it ready for publication. Is it even good? There are lots of…See More

Moonlight and Magnolias

I spent this past weekend at Georgia Romance Writers Moonlight and Magnolia’s conference.  I have never been to a writer’s conference before so I really didn’t know what to expect.  It was fabulous.  I learned so much, made lots of new friends and had the experience of a lifetime.  The other writers  were friendly and helpful.  Sometimes I am a little nervous going into a new group of women.  You never know what it will be like.  They were amazing.  It wasn’t cliqueish at all.It was a joy to…See More

What Makes A Hero A Hero?

I have written a bit on my blog about heroes. Real life ones mostly and I have known my share but what I am talking about now is the fictional sort.  I write about romance so of course I love them.  A story would be lifeless and boring without them.  They come rushing in to save the day and make the story more exciting and wonderful. What is it about our heroes we love so much? Is it how much they love the girl? Of course love is important.  The romance is heart pounding and makes us sigh and…See More

My First Rejection!

I got my first rejection today!  I sent a query (no ms) to an agent who judged my work for the contest my book won.  She had said in the critique I got back that she "might" be interested in seeing it after some editing. Well my manuscript has been professionally critiqued and edited. So I sent it. I got back a rejection not from her but an assistant. It said after consideration they felt my book was not a good match for their agency. Interestingly enough I was excited.  Is that strange?  I…See More

Hello Elena!

I want to personally Thank You for joining my group Blooming Late! I read what you wrote in the comment to join and I have to say that you must be like me, when asked my age and I say 45 I can't believe I heard that coming from my mouth because I feel like I should be more like 34 or so. Also congrats onthe finished book, I am still working on my first book for publication so youre already ahead of the game by my standards. :)

Please feel free to check out the main wall and if you have time please say hello. We also have the To Kick Things Off discussion board where you can introduce yourself and describe more about your writing. Also make sure to read the special WELCOME TO YOUR GROUP letter on the main page right above the wall that will start you off on the right foot.

And if theres anything else I can personally help you with, please dont hesitate to contact me. I am so glad you are here!

We're delighted to have you join us in the novelist group, Elena. If you haven’t done so already, you might introduce yourself by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion. We do a live chat Wednesdays at 1 EST, with instructions on how to participate in the "Our Water Cooler" box near the top of the group page. And we save the wall for discussion, but welcome links to helpful blog posts on the “Links to Helpful Blog Posts for Writers” discussion thread and to published books in the “Our Published Novels” one. I hope you’ll enjoy the group.
