Profile Information

Who I am:
I am a high school art teacher who struggled with eating disorders and watched in vain as a favorite student died from anorexia.
The sketches and journals I kept evolved into an illustrated book, “More to Love”, a not-to-serious look at body image and self-esteem.
I promote health and happiness for all sizes, and believe that women should be measured by the lives we lead, not by the size we wear!

I write and create art about positive body image and self-esteem for the plus-size majority. The TriDelta Sorority has put together a program for college-age women, who suffer from the highest percentage of eating disorders and low self-esteem of all women. I've posted their wonderful short video (all animated text) as well as my essay, illustration and excerpt from my book "More to Love" as this week's blog post.
