My Favorite Place To Write

Posted on March 12, 2010 at 5:12pm 1 Comment

My favorite place to write is at anchor. There are the silent sounds of nature, fresh air, and no temptations from the outside world.

Writing onboard is a seasonal luxury. During the off-season, I can write just about any place, as long as I have silence. Car trips are good. I plug my laptop into the inverter and have a constant source of power. With my IPod on "white noise" I drift blissfully into the writing zone for hours at a time while… Continue

Dear Ginger...you can go online to Poets and Writers Magazine and subscribe, they have a special offer for new subscribers. 6 issues a year for $17.95 instead of the usual $35.70. Every writer should read it, its the Bible for free-lance writers. Interviews, Conferences, story contests, articles on agents, publishing and ebooks. I've published three novels and lots of short stories but I still read it religiously. It keeps you connected to the writing community no matter where you are. Good luck! And alohas from Hawaii...Kiana Davenport

Hi Ginger! Glad to see your jewelry business is going so well. I haven't been doing much with my beads lately, but I did find a bat motif bracelet on B & B's website that I'm tempted to make! Good luck with the book and ask me anything when you have the time. :)

Ginger, I love the title of your blog "Off The Top of My Red Head;" I'll be back to check out your writing/promoting resource heavy blog. Great to meet you...envy you the open (though not always friendly) seas...your writing retreat of choice. I'm tree-locked (redwoods) but they have their own peace and quiet too. Onward...in good company. Sweet to meet.

Thanks. It's going to be hard trying to change my line of perception, but hopefully with prayer and training I can make it work. I'm trying to ingest as much information as possible about faith, writing, and reflection all corresponding each other to try and improve my technique. I'm taking a creative writing course this semester at my university and it's really humbling me and pulling me back down to Earth. Thanks for the add. :)
