I am a wife and a mother. I've often considered myself only those two things, especially when I'm stressed or lonely or tired. But I know that I'm, first and foremost, a woman. My own person. A bleeding heart liberal. A fighter for equality. AND a wife and mother. I stay home and pretend to parent, but really I do laundry and cook and clean and wipe snot and butts and count the hours, minutes, seconds until my husband comes home from work. I look forward to kindergarten more than most of the things I've ever looked forward to in my life. What I don't consider myself is a writer. I'm here to change that.
