The Self-Publishing Debate - Opinions?

Hi! I am a self published author (but also have had some mainstream published pieces as well). I chose to self publish back in 2004, really on a kind of whim–I had been trying to break into the tradi…

Hi Mariah, I am very interested in your comments. I have a ms at 118,000 and am trying to edit it down to 110,000 because of the length. Have you had any bites? Have you queried? I agree that people want to get to know characters, so they don't min…

I'm so obsessed with Catcher I have a copy of it in my car, office, and backpack with laptop. I also made sure my Creative thesis for school involved it some how! I haven't read Nation. Will add that to list!

Catcher in the Rye is absolutely my all time fav. Terry Patchett's Nation is a something more contemporary.

I have the first of the Uglies on my bed stand. I just finished a bunch by Jenny Han. I thought they were fast, beach reads. I would like to find a fantastical fiction that I can really sink into. This is an area that I find I am the pickiest!

Thanks for the welcome! I am a little overwhelmed but excited to join this group. A friend of mine connected me with Meadow Braun's blog. That's where I saw "She Writes" and it was simply the title that made me want to join. With all the different social networks out there, it's hard to find one that speaks to me and my interests, but so far, I am intrigues with She Writes.

I am an author and writer (teacher, mother, wife, friend, etc...) like many of you. I also have a blog called Write Naked. http://hannahrgoodman.blogspot.com

Nice to meet you all!
