"The Language of Trees, like Whitman’s Leaves of Grass though in a magic realist vernacular, refreshingly asserts that deeply American conviction: the gravest natural instinct is to heal and be healed. A shimmeringly heart-felt story.” —Gregory Maguire, author of the Wicked series

You gave up everything for this moment—men, jobs, and nights out with the girls. You waited your whole life for this to happen. Now it’s finally here. The publication of your debut novel. You are overcome with gratitude, but like most writers you remember every single stage of the journey. …

Hi Ilie! I look forward in getting to know you better. I'm heading for Borders tomorrow and will look up your book. I can't wait!!!
Hugs!!!
Hi Ilie:
Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed "The Language of Trees." Your writing is so fluid, so descriptive, and hauntingly beautiful. Here's my review: http://bit.ly/lOXIfH — Congratulations on such a spectacular achievement.
Thanks, Ilie, for your encouragement :) I sent one more out last night...following Lisa Rivero's lead to have several pieces floating around "out there" in the next several months.
Hope you're having a great week!
Way to go, Ilie, on the Motherlode post! You are such in inspiration.
Do you know Lisa Belkin? It looks like she's never covered miscarraige or fertility stuff before. I wonder why not, since it's such a common part of motherhood, esp. today. I'm thinking of contacting her (I have her email) about it--do you think it's worth it? Either way, congrats, congrats, congrats.
hi friend! things have been crazy with job interviews and obsessing over my portfolio and application anxiety, so I haven't written anything about what we'd emailed about....but I will! once my apps are in I should have more time. :) I hope you are well! xo
I love the title of your book, and the premise. It sounds like a wonderful novel, and I plan to order a copy. Your 'twittermom' interview was a pleasure to read. Congratulations!
