"Nano is great cuz it gets you writing.  To me, the outcome of whether or not I make the 50,000 words isn't the point.  The point is that I'll be writing more every day and therefore closer to finishing my next book."

Hi Jacqueline,

Took me long enough to reply! I'm so behind in all my responses on SheWrites, but writing comes first, right?

Great to hear of your word count and it doesn't matter really if you meet the word count they establish as long you keep going and feel good about the writing. I try not to beat myself up when I don't meet my personal goals because I always expect more out of myself than can humanly be accomplished, especially with a life that needs to be lived. Hope you have a good start on your novel and that when Dec. 1 rolls around you are well on your way to a first draft. Yippee!!

Hi Jacqueline,

Right now I'm at the Oregon coast for a week, finishing a novel, women's fiction, and hoping I can get it to my agent by early 2012. Love it that you write for/about theater as one of my characters is an actress "of a certain age," no longer an ingenue.

How's NanoWri going? I've never done it. Sounds like the SheWrites contenders are kicking derriere! Looking forward to hearing about your Nov. sprint. Hope it results in a ms. your editor will scoop up. I love reading suspense, but don't write it. High conflict, yes. I'm with you--love thinking about the next project.

thanks for reaching out!

Glad to have you in the novelist group! You might introduce yourself by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion if you're not too uncomfortable talking about what you're working on. And we do a live chat every Wednesday at 1EST; instructions on how to participate are in the "Our Water Cooler Wednesdays" box near the top of the group page. Hope you can join us for that.

I'll also look forward to your font in PIN.
