"Thanks Zeta, Very timely advice for me. The high you get after finishing your first draft can make you think that you're the best thing since Tolkien. Its only when doing a rewrite and evaluation that you notice the issues with your book. Like…"

The First Draft is all Crap

I took some time off to write my first draft now am I'll done, all 60,000 words of it. Now I'm doing the editing and I'm just blinded by the amount of rewriting I'll actually need to do. For one I'm discovering that I should have ignored the advice of one very nice reader to write on the fly and just simply finished my research (you remember the one I'd started on here about a month ago). Oh yes! and remember my world has four major…See More

DAY 4: Building Your Idea into a Novel

So far in your course to Write Your Novel life has seemed pretty easy. All you had to do was pick a genre and come up with the whispers of an idea. Well the real work starts when you have to build your idea past its LOCK potential into something worth more than a few paragraphs. The first step is to choose…See More

DAY 3: Is Your Idea Novel Worthy

Apparently not every idea I come up with is gold (I know - shocking!). Not every random story can give me a good book. It wasn't till I started researching that I found out how easy it was to sift the chaff from the real deal. Its called the LOCK Method (Check LOCK Method for more info). Basically the theory suggests that for your idea to pass through the gates of your brain to your fingers it…See More
