Hi there -- just wanted to drop by your page and invite you personally (or at least virtually) to our first-ever She Writes Orlando Florida meetup, celebrating our first-anniversary! We are so grateful to the event's organizer, Kemari Howell, for taking a risk and stepping up to host. I hope you will support her and bring yourself and other women who write (no need for them to be members) to the Orlando gathering. At the meetup writers will take part in the She Writes "Book Communion," where attendees arrive with one book, their own or another She Writers', new or gently used, and leave with another book as a meaningfully way to support one another's work. We will also be blowing out a candle and making a wish for our upcoming writing year -- along with She Writers gathering in 16 cities around the country. I hope you will be part of this historic (well, at least kind of cool) occasion, and RSVP now to Kemari.

I think it's a lovable book, but it's not set in California at all. It's set in a lovely area of Pennsylvania, Bucks County--where I live. This is a place known to the New York rich folk. They like to come out here and go to fancy restaurants that overlook the Delaware River--and renovate colonial houses that have gorgeous gardens and swimming pools. But I'm getting side-tracked! The book is available to preorder now! It's a coming-of-age story that I poured my whole heart and soul and every last shred of my talent into. I have excerpts at my website.

Hi Jane Eleanor, Thank you. I hope that people take the time, when the book it out, to actually read it. Sometimes I feel like I'm standing at the bottom of a big, almost impassable mountain, with very little mountain climbing gear. If there were a way to just let people know about this book . . . I think people would love it and spread the word. But that's a long, long row to hoe. It can take twenty years for word of mouth to create "success," and this I know from observing an artist friend of mine who basically did no self-promotion . . . I have the internet anyway and that may help . . .

>Your web site is very pretty. Did you design it on your own with a program?

Thanks, Jane! The site is actually the work of the VERY talented Ilsa Brink: http://ilsabrink.com/ It was the second author site she ever did, but she's now done buckets of them, including for most of my author friends.

Hope you enjoy The Wednesday Sisters! And thanks for Kindling it. :-)

Oh I know what its like to find a passion and feel obligated to pursue it. I am currently working on my memoir and have identified academic research that I want to pursue this year at college (my senior year so it'll be my English honors thesis paper). On top of this, I am interning for someone who is publishing her book. I have recently learned the importance of community and networking for becoming successful in any aspect of life and so I joined She Writes. I think it will be highly beneficial to you and your work.
