I don't know if I am the only one who feels this way. I am probably just really immature in this writing biz.I am fortunate enough to have a wonderful author who is working with me on my first novel. I talk a lot about my mother, but she is the smartest person I know. She says that when she "thinks of herself" her brain tells her that she is about nineteen or twenty.

Excruciating

Whew! I just finished an excruciating task. I had just written a little less than half of my book. When I submitted it to my mentor, the first thing she did was to make a painful suggestion. "This is good, but there is one major problem. It is in third person, and it needs to be in first person."

Normally, people do it in November. There's even a group here called NaNoWriMo. My husband got me the book and I just didn't want to wait until November. So I started today. He encourages you to just let the words flow and not edit or worry about perfection. Like your first marathon. The point is only to finish, not win. I found out there is a twitter gang doing it (do you do twitter?) under the hashtag #JulNoWriMo. I'm a nonfiction writer so I'm just trying to have fun with it.
