"I suppose this is sort of a re-introduction. I was buried in trying to rework my novel. I'm getting closer and coming up for air, and realize support and connection with other writers in exactly what I could use. Happy to be back :)"

I wouldn't be so full of crap if I could flush it and move on

Yesterday's rehearsal was bad. Beyond bad. Let me clarify. My playing was beyond bad. Everyone else was just dandy. As the first violin, however, I anchor the group, and if the anchor isn't set into solid ground, the whole boat drifts, no matter how sound it might be.I had no focus. Passages that I'd played quite competently the…See More

Flea Brain - Do they make a collar for that?

Last week a fidgety mind was seriously messing up my productivity. It happens to me from time to time. I call it flea brain. When I have flea brain, It doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing--writing, practicing, cataloging music--my mind darts from one place to another, not settling on one place long enough to focus or…See More

We're delighted to have you in the novelist group! You might introduce yourself by telling us what you’re working on in the “Show Me Your Novel and I’ll Show You Mine” discussion if you're not too uncomfortable talking about what you're working on. We save the wall for discussion, so please refrain from linking to blog posts there, but do add them in the “Links to Helpful Blog Posts for Writers” discussion thread.

And we do a live chat on Fridays at 3EST; instructions on how to participate are in the "Our Water Cooler Wednesdays" box near the top of the group page.

Hello Jeannine!

Thanks for joining my group Blooming Late! You will definitely fit right in, Id say way over half of the women here are like you and me included here because for one reason or another had put off the writing dream. You are in good company!

I saw your profile and tried to join your Facebook page but couldnt find a button to make you a friend, however I managed to follow you on Twitter.

As beginning to embark on a serious writing career I suppose in case you haven't already heard. Publishers are now requiring that you have what's known as a "platform" which consists of a blog that has followers and you are adding to consistantly as well as FB and Twitter,so you have those two but it might be a good idea to start a blog. A lot of us have one on Blogger or Wordpress because they are the simplest it seems.

There are many wonderful women in our group from all genres and levels of writing who are a real source of support, enouragement and inspiration for writing. I hope that you will be able to make your writing home with us!

We have many things going on in here and future plans for the group, take a look around our discussions and familiarise yourself with whats going on and participate where it will do you the most good. You dont have to follow any of the discussions unless you find one or two that will help encourage or inspire you. What I do ask of you though is if you would set your settings to recieve our emails so that when something is going on in the group you will be informed with everyone else.

We also have the pages section which can be found directly on the left of the group page. There you can add your birthday, what you write etc. according to each page. But please be sure to add your Facebook/Twitter handle in the page for it right away so that our members can connect with you.

We are starting a wonderful project that is going to expand the promotional ability of this group exponentially and so as time allows we would really like you to "friend" every member in here as well as connect with all of them on FB and Twitter so we can all be connected with each other. Thank You!

I am glad you are here and WELCOME to the group!

>and would like to try to publish it, but overwhelmed with the enormity of what I don't know

It is definitely overwhelming. But at least you have some PR experience, so understand how to sell. That will come in handy! I put together a piece on Agents & Query Letters from a seminar I occasionally give if you're at that stage.
