So, I had a friend & cousin recently to get on my page and notice "an hysterectomy."  They questioned my English.  Without looking it up, I assumed incorrectly that before an "h" word, an "n" was needed.  I looked it up online and discovered that even though the "h" was before a vowel, it took the "a" before a consonant sounding word.  It's only when the "h" is dropped that the "an" applies.  Interestingl  Outsmarted myself.  Will have to call and redact.  It's the obsessive compulsive in me.

Wanted to tell you that my daughter's fiance has landed a job with Environmental Services Corp in Mt. Juliet.  Will be visiting Nashville more often now.  Guess we'll have to find another venue since Davis Kidd is moving out??

Still need to post comments on Amazon.  Am I too late?

Have a lovely holiday season.

Hi Jennie,

I have now read all of your novels. Lily Beach was my last. I have been holed up on the farm for a while now after having a family drama followed by an hysterectomy, and I haven't participated in discussions or written anything significant in a couple of months. So, feedback on the first two books is coming for Amazon since they requested it, the latter, too, if they want it. I enjoyed your Bohemian character and her journey to fulfillment. Your writing is crisp and consistently very realistic.

I know why you did it, and I recognize it was the artistic thing to do, but did you have to kill off the most important character in the end? Boo hoo. It made me sad. Nonetheless, I did love the book.

Say, whatever shall we do after Davis Kidd closes? I am in shock.

Would like to get together sometime.

When Maggi invited me, she quite specifically made sure that Kelsey could be there, too - I think she might've wanted Kelsey more than me! Not sure yet how much time we'll be allotted, but we should be able to perform several poems there.

Of course I'd love to see you in Bell Buckle, too - I'll keep you posted on happenings there.

Thank you, Jennie, for your suggestions. Yes, this is the process I'm following -- Researching, reading agent blogs and websites, sending out what's requested, and persevering. I would like to think that getting an agent is a kind of magic line that once crossed leads to publication; however, the next step is getting published! And that's not always a given. I've self-published two books of poetry for family and friends and known other writers to publish their novels that route. Writers are now experimenting with Kindle and iPOD delivery. Even Amazon is introducing a publishing feature, but all these suggest to me that an agent is the first best step. Meanwhile, may your writing go well.

Being on She Writes is pretty exhilerating for I'm reading about people like you, published, writing, and inspiring others! Thank you for being an active participant! Now it's back to the agent search . . .
