Bar Wall Wisdom

A tribute bar to Charles Bukowski, the cheekily named Barkowski, has opened in my Los Angeles neighborhood. I found this quote hanging on the walls and needed to share it with my fellow She Writers. I can't think of a better way to go than writing!See More

Fata Morgana: My Fear of Flying

The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 over the weekend reminded me of something I wrote years ago about developing and conquering a fear of flying in the aftermath of the November 2001 crash of American Airlines flight 587. A warning: Alongside this beautiful image from Paul Klee, there is some grisly written imagery in this piece.Image from …See More

Book Art in Berlin

Spotted this exhibit of "buchobjetke" or book objects at a gallery in Berlin last week. In addition to the tower of books pictured, there were some bookshelf installations, too. Go visit if you're there: http://www.galerie-icon.de/index.htm The gallery has the added benefit of being just a few doors down from one my favorite wine bars in Berlin, Weinerei Forum.…See More

Hi Jennifer, I really enjoyed your Christmas letter. You have a wonderful talent for describing places and inserting lots of humor in your travel tales. I LOVE humor! My spouse and I spent a week in the Cotswolds, and your book brings back fond memories. I'm a city lover more than country, so London is tugging at my heart to return. Excited to read more of your writing. Best wishes with everything in 2014.

Cheers, Kay
