Make This Summer Something To Write About

I remember clearly the sense of dread that filled me each year with the approach of Labor Day. (I'm dating myself, but when I was young, school didn't start until after the last official care-free day of summer.) I wasn't worried about fitting in, finding my classroom, liking my teacher, or giving myself away as fashion-challenged as I confidently walked the hallways in my First Day Of School Outfit (rivaled in hideousness only by the Picture Day Outfit). Instead, what I nervously anticipated…See More

Who I am:
http://www.rollerskatingwithrickets.com/blog/

This blog is about my quest to live. When I was born, my parents were told my life expectancy was 10 years. Now, as I approach three times that, I increasingly deal with living with a disease that will eventually destroy all my organs. Though I often see the word "suffer" in connection with my disease, I take my cue from the musical "Rent": "To you, and you, and you and you and you, to those who are living with, living with, living with...not dying from disease."
Media outlets that I currently write for:
I work as an editor currently, and have previously worked as a proofreader and editor for various companies and publications.
My writing is:
Nonfiction, Memoir, Journalism, Blog Posts
Services I offer to other writers:
I've worked in the publishing business (primarily as a proofreader) for several years, and occasionally proofread other writers' work.
