Poems of a young mind

I destroyed most of the poems I wrote when I was a teen. Too much angst. Too much melancholy. And I thought I had gotten rid of them all until I found my 'Little Prince' notebook with a few scribbles in it. The thing is I haven't really changed. I'm still incredibly melancholic, sometimes disastrously so. And I often let my emotions run free when no one is around to hem me in. Here are the few I uncovered. What laughable attempts.

I found myself in the ocean today

The first day

Back from Singapore. I saw a loved one for the last time. She passed on her birthday. 95 years. An amazing woman.

One day I will write about her life. Her beauty. Her love. Her strength. Her incredible ability to remember numbers and people. Her enjoyment of the cold yet giving of warmth. Her occasional nasty streak and intolerance of youngsters pretending to be asleep on buses and trains to not surrender their seat to someone needing it more. She was a fighter, a protector of all… Continue

Hey Jocelyn,
Thanks fir your comment. I admire your courage in writing what you believe and fore-warning nay-Sayers (who are everywhere), it's great to disarm those who choose to aim at everything. the great thing about philosophy, is that everyone's beliefs are "right". Live your life unapologetically with courage, the alternative is so unappealing!

I smile when I read about your concern about offending anyone with your faith related writing… there was a time not that long ago that I had two different blogs… one faith based, the other so called regular stuff… and then I realized that the two could be and probably should be one and the same. And I'm not trying to be careful anymore… not trying to be inoffensive just being who I am and what I believe in… an open book. I love that you are concerned about being loving to those who read your words… I believe that you are and that you too will find convergence of all that you are and profess to be :) I hope that my words are supportive and encouraging to you, dear Jocelyn. Talk to you soon,
Lesley-Anne

>I love the covers of your books

Me too! I can claim no credit whatsover for them - they are the work of the very talented art department at Random House. But I especially love the new one!

Love the title of your blog, and will look forward to checking it out when I have a quiet moment.
