That's great to hear how well bookmarks have worked for you, Annette. I hadn't thought of doing this type of thing, but my book designer, Amy Anselmo, on her own (!) fiddled with the cover image so that it works as a poster. I could ask…

This is a great topic, as librarians often know what kinds of books people are looking for. Beyond the request forms--which I didn't know about--how can you get your book (particularly an alternatively-published one) known to them? How do…

Thanks for that, Angela. I'd also say try the traditional route first--but with your eyes open. Knowing that the other options are out there means you don't need to sell yourself short.

Judith, I think the Espresso Book Machine sounds cool! I'd love to see my book pop out of one of those. When I set up my files with Lightning Source I'll have to inquire about it. I'll be posting my progress with self publishing.…

After much wrestling with this, I decided to give the POD program at my local bookstore, using the Espresso Book Machine, a try. The book has only been out a week and I'm still feeling out distribution channels, so I don't know how it will…

Hi Judith,

Yes, the Weil family definitely shows up in the family tree! My connection is through the Shidlovsky family - my grandmother was Hanna Shidlovsky, whose mother was a Rottengerg. You can see this all spelled out here: www.michelle-cameron.com/books/fruit-family-tree.html. I found out about Meir through a comprehensive Hebrew family tree that was published by one of our cousins, Smuel Hadas, in 1998, "The Estate on the Bug River." Though my mother always told me we could trace our roots back to the 1200s..

I viisted your Web site and obviously writing runs in the family... I'm really glad you stumbled across my page and made this connection!

Judith! How wonderful to reconnect after these eons. Funny thing, I just found Tony on Facebook. Nope, not at Skidmore--married, have a new baby (!!!), a place up in northern California and another memoir due to my publisher, like, now.... Looking forward to checking out your new work! Best to you all--
