If you hire a book designer, it can be quite expensive.  You might check out a package on CreateSpace first which is very reasonably priced. I used them for my book. You're welcome to take a look.  It all depends on what your budget…

@ Jennifer.  I agree with Carolyn.  Your first line is too long.  The reader has to be grounded upfront.  Where is your protagonist?  We know she's in a car, but where?  The first line should set the scene for…

Don't be too hard on yourself.  We all hate having to write a synopsis and a query letter.

Of course, you can find someone to write your synopsis and/or cover letter.  There are more people making money off of writers than writers making money (that's my motto.)  The key is you'll pay a fortune for this service, mainly…

Here's the thing -- it doesn't matter what the price of your book is if no knows knows about it!  I'm always amazed at how many indie authors do little or nothing to promote their books.  My novel didn't just get…

Hey, Judith!  I've not finished your book yet.  Got swamped with work stuff; but I'm on holiday leave now, and I'm taking it on my Christmas cruise with me next week.  I'll be reading it on the beach in Belize!  Happy holidays and many blessings to you!  :)

Hello Judith!

Thank you so much for joining my group Blooming Late!

I appreciate that you jumped right in and introduced yourself but please also list your blog and your book in the pages section to the left of the main group page.

I have heard of your book actually, of course LOVE the title because it is SO true! And congrats on your interview and all the good press you have gotten! I really like your blog  and all of your writers platform!

My husband is actually suffering from terminal cancer and so I also appreciate what you have done in raising awareness and having donations set up for research, even though it is for breast cancer, his last chemo which saved his life literally since he was within weeks of dying when they found it actually used a drug that was originally for breast cancer. He was diagnosed in Nov 09 and is very healthy despite the cancer thanks to this drug so all research is good research!

Anyway I hope you spend some time looking around the group. We have some very nique things going on here and have a great group of dynamic women that are a support, encouragement and inspiration to writing!

I am very glad you are here and WELCOME to the group!

Enjoyed reading about your publishing journey from self-pub to optioning the screen rights last year. It shows what believing in your work can do with a little grit and tenacity.

Hi Judith, I am looking for someone to trade pages with. I am working on editing my first women's fiction manuscript, and I need some honest critique. PS Your novel in progress sounds like a page turner.
