Also in California, Rakestraw Books in Danville. They are really good about making readings "more than." I went to a reading recently for Either You're in or You're in the Way. The bookstore had hooked up with the local high school's film program an…

A little about me...

My name is Judy Clement Wall. I’m a writer. My short stories and essays have been published in numerous print and online literary journals. Recently I completed my first novel, Beautiful Lives, the story of a family torn apart by mental illness, and their clumsy, halting, sometimes painful, often funny path to reconciliation. While I figure out the publication part of being a literary novelist, I'm at work on Book Two and blogging on Zebra Sounds about life, love, politics and, occasionally, my unbridled enthusiasm for cheesecake.

Since I write more of the romantic type of novels, looks are important for my characters. I come up with their look various ways. I envision what they should look like, and write their attributes down, or I use pictures of people I clip from magazin…

My cousin, Em, doesn't see it. She sees a plain face, limp hair, fat rolls, etc. But to me she's beautiful, and maybe I'm biased, but she's the most beautiful woman I've ever known or seen. It's because she's the sister I never had, my sister in Chr…
