I was feeling a little guilty, I just can't help myself ... when I go into a bookstore it is like eating potato chips, I can never buy just one. I knew this time it was for a good reason, to buy a book published in 2009 written by a woman, and even better if it is a woman who is on She Writes. But, when I read Kamy's post that she went into Barnes and Noble and bought 39, well heck, the guilt just melted away.
I bought Hope Edelman's "the possibility of everything" after following Hope's wonderful Countdown to Publication. I also bought Malalai Joya's "A Woman Among Warlords". I bought a couple of soft-cover books as well, one published in 2009 and the other possibly in 2008 but still ... I bought "Timeof My Life" by Allison Winn Scotch, and "Girl Trouble" by Holly Goddard Jones. Now, added to the already looming stack of to-be read books, I'm set for quite some time, but it will be a blast.
Take that PW! What do they know about best of 2009!
