Hi Karen.  I hope you had a nice holiday.  Just wanted to give you a 'heads up'.  You wrote a while ago on my blog asking me to comment on gifted and talented education options.  It has been a challenge because there are no set guidelines - they vary across and even within states, cities and school districts.

I hope what I wrote addresses your needs and concerns.  Please let me know.

In the meantime, I wish you a very happy, healthy, successful 2011.

All the best,

Meryl Jaffe

Hi Karen.

I loved this blog post. When I had a real (as opposed to a virtual) classroom, every week my students would have to collect their favorite sentence of the week. Your blog reminded me of that --- the power of the word!

Today I blogged about the power of the word from a different perspective: choosing the right words when giving constructive criticism.

I hope you visit and leave your own ideas/comments/experiences - I greatly value them.

It has been a while since I connected with you (or anyone - been very busy) and hope all is well. I look forward to visiting again soon.

All the best,
Meryl

Thank you, Karen for visiting my blog too!

Regarding your comment: I actually work for Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth and would love to write about gifted and talented education.

You have hit the nail on the head: Defining "gifted"

I would love to do a post - and will keep you posted! (pun intended, sorry...)
All the best,
Meryl
