How are we going to do this? I don't see any way to register. I got this notice from She Writes today, 2/7, and I thought there should be days of prompts to catch up on. I see nothing. ????????

Truth. There is so little truth in normal conversation. People either want to be sure they don't hurt anyone's feelings, or they want to be cute instead of insightful. I'm sorry. Sometimes the only thing that makes my heart pump and…

Yes, Yes, Yes - you have captured the essence of why we all write (well, me anyway) because it is bigger than just us and we feel the need to share the message somehow.  My blogs aren't really there yet, but I know its coming and I have so…

A Boot In An Appropriate Place

I spent the winter avoiding the project I knew I needed to write. I can tap dance around that truth as much as I want, but you won't be fooled. When all is said and done, I just avoided actually writing the project that is in my heart. I excused myself graciously by pointing out that I had been dreadfully sick, and I needed time to recover. How much time? Who knows? I am almost never sick, so I have little experience by which to make any judgment about recovery time. Furthermore, the whole idea…See More

Integrity in our Words

I am not a big fan of Halloween. It appears to me that this day gives people a chance to display ugliness that most of us would rather not look at. I have never liked anything that smacked of “horror,” and I don’t find horror amusing. I made peace long ago with the “trick or treat” concept, because I enjoy the little ones in costume. Playing dressup is fine. Being as ugly and revolting as possible is not on my bucket list anywhere. However, as I was thinking about a personal challenge lately,…See More

Are You a Christian Wimp?

Recently I was thrown into a challenge I really feared, but when it was over, I realized that it was God’s blessing to help me grow up. The challenge was to accept huge risk and trust that God would enable me to overcome it. Even more, the challenge was to accept the risk and trust that whatever the outcome, it would be God’s blessing and gift.

The problem was that our sailboat’s diesel engine, the power source that get us in and out of harbors or past tricky hazards, quit working… Continue

Thanks for the comment, Katherine. Just saw your post above (Are you a Christian Wimp?) You know what, many times I am. I struggle with trusting Him completely even though He's always been faithful and good to my family and I. A large part of it has to do with not understanding why the goodness I have experienced doesn't seem to extend to people I strongly believe He'd be the same to since He's love. That probably sounds a little confusing. I'd go on forever though if I expanded on it so I better go now before I hog your page.
